September 26th to 29th is Orange Shirt Week at Lakeview,
This week has been focused on honoring and creating awareness around this Fridays National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Activities included:
Our Story Walk – This year our story walk will feature, Our Orange Hearts, by Phyllis Webstad. Orange Shirt Designs and larger Class Design. Picture book Read-a-louds by Indigenous authors collected by Ms. Buchanan. We will also be gathering as a school on Thursday at 10:45 – events will included the Coast Salish Anthem, Land Acknowledgement, a read aloud: Orange Shirt Day, by Division 2, a clip of Phyllis Webstad speaking about Orange Shirt Day and Class Shirt presentations.
