Reporting your Student Absent

If your student is going to be absent, late, or require early dismissal

Please call or email the school office (and your student’s teacher) to let us know.

PLEASE PROVIDE:

• Student first and last name
• Division number
• Date(s) that they will be away
• Reason for absence (i.e. Illness, vacation, appointment, etc.)

Like all other elementary schools in Burnaby, Lakeview Elementary has the “safe arrival program”. This means that if a child is marked absent, but the office has not received a telephone call or an email from the caregivers advising of the absence/tardiness, a phone call home or email will be made to ensure the child is safe.

Absent for an Extended Period

If your child is going to be absent from school for more than 3 consecutive weeks.
